Gena's Journey

Bazaart_F6707C52-3ED0-419C-B10D-06216B626EDF.JPG

Gena’s journey began in February 2024, when a routine check-up led to the discovery of pancreatic cancer. She bravely underwent chemotherapy and a complex Whipple surgery in spring 2024. By December 2024, she was in remission, a testament to her strength, resilience, and fighting spirit. In 2025, the cancer returned and Gena has been trying both conventional and an integrative approach to healing her body.

For 24 years, Gena has been a dedicated member of the HMTX Industries family in Norwalk, CT. Beyond her work, she has devoted her time and heart to helping others through HMTX Cares and Thomas’ Hope Foundation Inc. She’s helped raise over $1 million for mental health and substance use disorder initiatives and has supported the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which provides mortgage-free homes to wounded veterans and first responders. Her compassion, leadership, and generosity have touched countless lives—and now it’s our turn to support her.

In addition to chemotherapy and clinical trials, Gena is exploring alternative medicine options to supplement her care, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, red light therapy, acupuncture, and specialized nutrition. These holistic treatments help her stay balanced, energized, and focused, but are not covered by insurance and are all out-of-pocket expenses. She also hopes to continue her care at an alternative treatment center once chemotherapy is complete, further supporting her recovery.

Your support will help Gena cover medical costs, holistic therapies, and day-to-day expenses during this fight. Every RSVP and donation, no matter the size, shows Gena she is not alone and helps her focus on what matters most: healing and hope.
